Alternatively, researchers may independently propose a theme that aligns with the journal\u2019s aims and scope.<\/p><p>The proposed Special Issue topic should be of strong current interest and scientific relevance. It should be broad enough to attract a substantial number of high-quality submissions, yet sufficiently focused to maintain thematic coherence.<\/p><p>Researchers interested in serving as Guest Editors should submit a detailed proposal to the Editorial Office at <strong>editor@crcjournals.org<\/strong>. Proposals are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with Editorial Board Members, and applicants will typically receive a decision within two weeks of submission.<\/p><p>The proposal should include a current curriculum vitae and brief bibliography demonstrating expertise and visibility in the proposed topic, along with any prior editorial experience. If applicable, the names and contact details of up to two co-Guest Editors should be provided. The proposal must clearly state the proposed title of the Special Issue, its background and scientific significance, the scope and six concise keywords reflecting its focus, and the expected number of submissions. A tentative timeline for manuscript solicitation and peer review should also be included. Except for invited Editorials, every manuscript undergoes a thorough and independent peer review process.<\/p><p>Submissions are first screened by the Editor-in-Chief for suitability and compliance with journal policies. Manuscripts deemed appropriate for review are then assigned to the Guest Editor, who typically acts as the Academic Editor for the Special Issue. Before handling a manuscript, the Guest Editor must declare any potential conflicts of interest involving the authors or subject matter. If a conflict exists, the Editor-in-Chief will assign an alternative Academic Editor to ensure impartiality.<\/p><p>The Guest Editor is responsible for selecting qualified independent reviewers and overseeing the review process. During this stage, the Guest Editor must ensure the scientific rigor, objectivity, and validity of reviewer reports, identify potential conflicts of interest, and report any suspected ethical concerns or misconduct. Based on reviewer feedback and their own evaluation, the Guest Editor makes a recommendation\u2014Acceptance, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Rejection\u2014to the Editor-in-Chief.
